in Petropolis, 55 miles away from Rio, we'll drive up to the
countryside of the "Serra da Estrela" mountains.
One of the main points of interest in Petropolis is the summer
residence of Emperor Dom Pedro II, which has been restored
to its original splendor. Today it became the Imperial Museum.
Enjoy
the gastronomic lunch at the "Locanda della Mimosa",
owned by the famous "Chef" Danio Braga. Then, in
the picturesque "Cuiaba" Valley, 3,400 feet (1,100m)
above sea level, you'll find the nestled "Tankamana"
Lodge, with a fabulous mountain view.
If
you are planning a honeymoon, the Tankamana restaurant is
outstanding for a romantic dinner. It offers daily horseback
rides, walking trails lead through the beautiful forest surrounding
the lodge. The day is free to enjoy this paradise.
Be
our guest, visiting 1820-1860's Brazilian coffee plantation
historic farmhouses at Imperial Coffeee Valley cities, in
Rio de Janeiro. "The Coffee Barons" were responsible
for Brazil's wealth on the 19th century, producing the "Green
Gold", approved worldwide. This tour is great for all
ages.
Smell
and taste genuine Brazilian fresh brewed coffee, cakes and
pastries cooked on farm kitchens of yesteryears.
Here
we go by the "Via do Imperador" (Emperor's Road)
to the historical city of Paraty. Explore the historical Center
of Paraty on foot, free of cars, and travel back in time.
You'll spend the night in one of the most romantic lodges
in the historic center. And you'll have lunch on the small
"Catimbau" island.
