We
invite you to join the most fascinating Antarctic Cruise,
which is also a worldwide exclusivity: the only Antarctic
flight-cruise in history.
You
will be able to get to the Antarctic in approximately three
hours in direct flight from the city of Punta Arenas in Chile,
avoiding a journey of 5 days (2,5 to get there and 2,5 to
return). through the stormy waters of the Drake Sea.
From
here on, you will travel during 6 days and 5 nights visiting
the most beautiful scenic places and the biggest concentration
of fauna in this bright continent.
Program
includes:
- Transfer to Punta Arenas airport and flight to King George
Island
- Visit to Eduardo Frei Chilean Base, the biggest on this
side of the continent
- Visit to Hanna Point on Livingston Island, home of the Antarctic
and Gentoo Penguins
- Possible sighting of the Macaroni Penguin, Southern Elephant
Seal and Antarctic Fur Seal
- Aitcho Island and its Gentoo and Antarctic Penguin colonies
- Deception Island, of volcanic origin
- Visit the ruins of the former Norwegian Whaling Station
and the BAS shelter
- Guided tour to Neptune's Bellows, nesting site of the Cape
Petrel
- Visit to Port Lockroy on Wiencke Island and Paradise Bay
- Visit to the Chilean Air Force President Gabriel Gonzales
Videla base
- Cruise through the Lemaire Channel, one of the most beautiful
places in the world, known as the Kodak Gap
- Landing and sighting of Petermann Island, the southernmost
spot in our trip. Home of Gentoo and Adelie Penguins and of
a colony of King Cormorants
- Cuverville Island, nesting place of the Gentoo Penguin
- Landing at Half Moon Island, habitat of large Antarctic
Penguin colonies
- Visit to the Henry Artowcski Polish Academy of Science Antarctic
Base
- Airport transfers/hotel accommodation for the day prior
to the beginning of the program
